I'm already using vi(m) as my primary editor (could never get the hang of
emacs -- I think mostly it's a product of trying to learn linux in
general, and emacs is pretty complex in its own right). There are times
where I have had to fall back to gedit, because I can't figure something
out "quickly" ... but that's happening less and less as time goes on.

Still don't have muscle memory for everything, but at least I can do most
of the basic tasks (move around, insert/replace/delete, copy/paste).

TBH, I've never been good with "structured learning" as much as dealing
with things as they come up -- "Okay, so now I fixed problem ABC, and
onto problem XYZ". Yeah, it probably means that code I write is somewhat
(ok, a lot) more spaghetti than it should be ...

I do have a shell scripting book on my shelf. Tends to be more of a
reference book than it should be (i.e. I SHOULD actually go through and
do the exercises / lessons as written).

In a somewhat related vein - is there a "How to use slrn for dummies"
book/tutorial out there? Been using Pan for however long, but I'm
finding as I'm getting more accustomed to the terminal, I like having
command-line options alongside my graphical go-tos...

Thanks!
