We currently are counting the records immediately after committing the 
transaction to ensure that we have really written the number of records 
that we thought we wrote.  In order to get reasonable query performance 
we need to have index's on the 3 Columns we are selecting on.  So those 
index's will need to stay.  I hope to have some time later this week to 
code and test.  I’ll report back my findings.
