You seem too busy to notice but some command line utility with "NINE 
protocols" that you've spent the past two days trying to figure out is the 
ultimate proof that the "support" for Google-Drive on Linux is worse than 
unacceptable.

On top of this you had to (or believed you had to) sign up for a developer 
account and give Google your credit card number. No thanks.

I don't have a use for Google Drive but I do have an existing Google 
account. So I took a "snapshot" of a Windows VM (Win7-64) then downloaded 
and installed the Google Drive client.

Run the installer. Press the button to go to the next screen. Entery 
username/password. Press button to go to next screen. The installer verifies 
it can log in and tells me there's a "Google Drive" directory at the same 
level as Documents, Music, Videos, Photos. Done.

Basically run the installer, enter username/password and you're done. 
Everything just works. And I can rollback my VM to the snapshot and the 
install never happened.

No need to give Google my credit card number, no need to search out some 
command line utility with "NINE protocols" and then spend 2 days trying to 
figure out how it works.

It's been 3 years. If Google is going to actually support Linux then they 
need to step up to the plate.
