I'm confused, so, I need to take this new information slowly.

My dnsmasq line is currently not commented out:
$ cat /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf | grep dnsmasq
=> dns=dnsmasq

Before I comment it out, I'm trying to understand this new concept to me 
of how a port 53 DNS request typically goes from my laptop to my router 
to my transceiver to the Internet (with and without a VPN public server 
in the mix).

Before I saw this dnsmasq stuff, I was reading the instructions here:
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

Should I follow the Google instructions, or the dnsmasq instructions
in order to prevent DNS leaks while on a free public VPN server?
