Most KVM switches are keyboard-controllable.  The 2-input ones usually
respond to Scroll Lock being tapped twice, or something similar.  As long as
at least one of the computers is on, the switch is powered up and should
respond to change requests.

The OP mentioned that one of the hosts is a Raspberry Pi.  One caveat with
those is that it might not be a bad idea to put a powered USB hub between
the Pi and the KVM switch, as the Pi isn't able to deliver much power
through its USB ports.
