At first I thought Patrick’s question was rather naļve, as people usually
post to the newsgroup when they have a question or feel that they can help
with a solution. The thing that could be really useful would be if
contributors could list any software that they would be prepared to release
free of charge to other contributors.

Let’s face it, frequently we know the answers to questions , ‘cause we’ve
been there & got the T-shirt. I am sure we all spend a lot of time
re-inventing the wheel.

How something like this could be set up, I’m not sure and getting
descriptions of what a database does could be tricky. Also if people were
prepared to release a database, clearing it of data would be an additional
task.

I leave this in the ether to see what brews
