Hi. I am working with Access 2013 and so far my impression is that this
product is a pile of dung. I NEVER had problems with Access like 2013. I
LOVED 2010.

Right now, I have a data entry form. The form's recordsource is a query.
There is a text box called PON (purchase order number) with some code in the
AfterUpdate event. No formatting. Edits allowed.

If I enter 1234 in the PON field and press the ENTER key, the value of 1234
disappears. If I do it several times, all of a sudden I can't enter
anything. I have a blank field So I go into debug. I enter:
  ? Me.PON
and I'll get
  1234
  1234
  1234....
up to 25 characters of the field which is its length in the table.

My AfterUpdate event does not look at the value of PON. It doesn't have
restrictions as far as I know. It just wipes 1234 away after I press the
Enter key and it stays in the PON field.

HOWEVER...if I press the TAB key, it keeps 1234 and moves on to the next
field. I have NEVER seen this in all the years of me programming. I can't
find any help on Google. I have decompiled, I have closed the app, I have
compacted the app. Nothing helps.

Should I get an UZI and bring it in to work and simply blow the crap out of
the computer? Or do you have any suggestions that will get me over my
frustration?

BTW, it does the same thing in a field called Desctiption as well.

Can I trust A2013? Is the app worth more than a plug nickel?

My reader didn't quote the above for some reason.

The last Access I worked with was 2003, but (in that version) I remember
seeing the effect you describe when a textbox is sized to display 1 line of
data, but has its "Enter key behavior" property set to "New line in field".
A newline is appended when you hit enter, which pushes up the text you just
typed, and therefore out of the viewable area. This has the effect of
"clearing" the control.

Hope that's it.
