I saw some things I found questionable in your code, and snipped it.

Since I'm currently on Windows, and not in a position to test it, I
think it's safer for both of us, that you take the weekend off, and
do something else.

Hiking, sewing, binge watching some 'flix, or what.  Then, if you're
still frustrated about this, look over the code.  Maybe you'll see
what I saw, and maybe I was completely off.

And if I'm completely off about what I saw, then it's probable
you'll want to do this in C rather than Lisp, but I see no reason
to force people to use a programming language I like.

Because I'm the strangest creature there is; I like both Common Lisp
and C.
