Nothing is "broken".

BTW, there's a new set of drivers from the NVIDIA web site -- a
new release driver and a new beta.  I'm now running the beta.

I still had to "skip-module-load" like this:

./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-575.51.02.run --skip-module-load

(Something to do with module dependencies.)
