CDs and DVDs are always mounted read-only. Writing to them requires a
different technique than reading them, and they are normally only
written to when they are _not_ mounted.

No. "noauto" in the mount options in /etc/fstab simply means that the
filesystem is not mounted automatically at boot time. You don't want to
have the system start looking for a filesystem on a CD/DVD to mount at
boot time. ;-)
