This shows that it is an advantage to adopt an homogenous syntax.
Note that we already have:

 if(…)
 while(…)
 do(…)
 for(…)

 your_random_function(…)

so why not:

 return(…)

Now, in for(…;…;…)… we already have 3 expressions in the parentheses, so
the question is why not also put inside the parentheses the following
expression?  in if(…)… we already have one expression in the
parentheses, so the question is why not also put inside the parentheses
the following expression?  and so on.

  (if test then else)
  (while test body)
  (do body)
  (for (init test increment) body)
  (return expression)
  (your-random-function arguments)

and you get lisp :-)  yay!
