The easiest thing to position the cursor is to print everything up to the 
cursor, emit the "save cursor" escape sequence (vt100 <esc>[s or <esc>7), 
print the rest, and then emit the "restore cursor" escape sequence (vt100 
<esc>[u or <esc>8).  This doesn't work when the screen scrolls during the 
rest of the printing, but the idea behind a block editor is that it won't do 
that ;-).
