Perhaps it should be seen as the verbal/intellectual equivalent of
shooting someone from 250m or bombing them from 30,000ft. You don't get
to know them, you don't even have to see their faces, you can just pull
the trigger. Not everyone does it, though:

psychopathy, and were Machiavellian in their manipulation of others and
their disregard for morality."
