Hello. Over the last few years of picking up vintage Apple gear, I've acquired a couple of Newton 2000s and a 2100. The 2100 is cosmetically tatty, the case finish had perished and gone sticky when I bought it so I stripped it all off with white spirit leaving just bare plastic. I then festooned it in Apple stickers to tart it up a bit. The door hinge is a bit broken, and there's a couple of dings in the case too. The display is also quite dim. The 2000s I have, though, are both immaculate. I'm wondering, is it possible to simply swap the motherboard from the 2100 with one of the 2000s to get a pristine looking 2100? The extra memory and performance of the 2100 is very noticeable over the 2000, so I'm keen to use it if I can without being depressed by the state of the thing! FU set to CSMV, please honour. -- Stephen Thomas Cole // Sent from my iPhone
