Your observation could be consistent with that *if* you're using a
non-current version. But then it seems odd that the MSDN documentation
for Visual Studio 2015:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/kk6xf663.aspx
doesn't warn against strcpy more strongly than it does.
