In the old-days Newsgroup-names didn't contain minus-signs. Now they do. So I hacked the good-old NTTP 'handler', [based on rfc..]. But now, sometimes it hangs. Often after the first fetch. When I asked: list article-header-numbers in comp.sys.raspberry-pi, containing "onta" in <Subject>, it hang, if it's already done a fetch. lsof | grep <pid> shows the 2 lines:-- 22380 root 29u IPv4 391647 \ TCP 10.208.223.203:41160->78.46.70.116:nntp (ESTABLISHED) 22380 root 30u IPv4 391655 \ TCP 10.208.223.203:41162->78.46.70.116:nntp (ESTABLISHED) Does this mean that I had 2 connections to 78.46.70.116:nntp, when it hung ? Shouldn't the 1st connection have closed, since I only 'called' the second fetch, after I saw that the 1st had arrived. Perhaps the NNTP-server [eternal september] doesn't allow D.O.S.-like multiple connections? ==TIA.
