Something like:
#define CHECK_SQLITE_BYTES 7
char line[CHECK_SQLITE_BYTES];
?

Why?

OK. Nearly all the examples I saw used it like I did, or with a space:
sizeof (line)
>> printf("1st 6 bytes = '%s'\n", line);

main() checks for file size > 0 before checking for SQLite format.
If the file isn't empty but the first character is nul, it wouldn't be a
SQLite format. So I think I'm OK here.
(something interesting: when you create a SQLite db (using .open
filename), it's just an empty file until you add objects with CREATE)

Nitpicking is no problem. I appreciate the review. I want it to be
bulletproof. Doesn't hurt my feelings at all.

I did that, in the next function.

I agree. Very important.

Looks good. If it's a commonly used style, there's a reason. So I'll
try to remember that style.
Note:
isSQLiteDB.c:39:2: warning: suggest parentheses around assignment used
as truth value [-Wparentheses]
if(pFile = fopen(pFilePath, "r"))

Wonder why? I like it to say "Compilation finished successfully." with
no warnings.

I also looked at using the stat system call, but it was a big hassle and
seemed overkill.
In VB all it takes to check file size is FileLen(filepath). None of
this open file with various mode switches, then move to end from offset,
then use ftell, then close the file, etc.
The VB drool way is so much easier and saves a lot of time. Any old
DuFuS can do it...

Good catch. As it stands now:
# ./isSQLiteDB
file (null) doesn't exist
I updated the routine to process up to 3 files at a time. 1337ness!!!!

I intentionally messed with the formatting of this block, just to
shorten it. I know it's ugly.

Thanks for critique and advices! You sound like someone who loves the
craft of coding :)
I made every change you mentioned, that compiled cleanly (see below)
C looks like one of those love/hate languages. It makes things so much
more difficult than VB/A and python, but has incredible power and control.
You'll laugh - it took me probably 4 hours to write the original code.
I had to Google for everything: printf format specifiers, fopen, fgets,
fseek, some operators, the format of a SQLite file, etc.
I just the other day learned what "int argc, char *argv[]" means. A lot
of C still looks like gibberish, but if I keep at it a year from now it
will be a lot easier to read.
With Zed A. Shaw and you on my side, I'll one day QA some Linux C
programs!

I think I originally learned -Wall from the Geany (editor) compile output.
gcc -Wall -c "isSQLiteDB.c" (in directory: /home/dfs/C/LCTHW)
Compilation finished successfully.
Then I researched it on the GuhNoo site.

I'll check it out. I already ran some with valgrind.
valgrind -v ./progname
But it's too hardcore for me right now.

I remember that. The weenie completely disappeared when challenged.
I think Creepy, in his desperation to appear Linuxy, literally cannot
say one positive word about MS or Windows, even though they paid for his
suburban lifestyle.
