My default stance on just about all of the news coming in from the United States government is that it's bullshit until irrefutable evidence is shown. I believe absolutely nothing about what they say until scientists demonstrate clear evidence that none of their statements are lies. They history precedes them and it would be foolish to immediately accept a word of what they say.
