After a day of being "forced" to use Ubuntu on this laptop, I have to
admit that I remember why I enjoyed being a GNU/Linux advocate for so
long in the past. It's not because the system is perfect by any means,
but rather because I feel a sense of liberation in operating a free
environment devoid of any kind of non-free code. Unfortunately, I don't
think that I will successfully be able to live without the proprietary
NVIDIA driver. Waking from sleep with the proprietary driver might give
me graphical errors but the Nouveau driver simply freezes the computer.
I'm not sure which is worse right now.
