You know, I love Access. But there's one thing I hate, which seems it would be an easy feature to add to fix it. When you set a form to AllowEdits = False, Access won't allow you to edit controls, even unbound controls. Seems that we should have some sort of form property option which says Always Allow Editing of Unbound Controls (True/False). You know, when you have a form that you are displaying in view mode with AllowEdits=False, you still want the user to be able to use unbound controls, to go to a record or perform other functions. Sure, you can still use command buttons and pop up a little form. But we should be able to have an unbound combo box or check box on the form, and allow the user to edit them if we wish. Right now, the only workaround I've found to this problem is to not use AllowEdits at all, and instead write code that loops through all controls, setting their locked property to True, except for the unbound controls that you want the user to be able to use. Anyone else find any other workarounds to this problem besides that one? Thanks.
