Hi Rudy,

You certainly have restricted your criteria for who may try to help you. To 
answer your first question: no. I used mostly masm. So it seems that I am 
not qualified.

To answer your second question: no. My style of managing software developers 
over the millions of lines of MS-DOS code that I produced has always been to 
suggest options not to tell anyone anything except for stories:)

When you put it that way, it seems to me you are like a hitch-hiker on a 
deserted highway hoping for a ride.

FWIW, one option that I would suggest is to assume that Tasm's parser may 
have a bug that was never patched, and to declare the variable in masm mode 
then go back to ideal mode.

I may be off-base and if so I am sorry to have responded further after 
answering both of your questions. The good news is that I answered both 
correctly:)

I certainly understand that you don't want to be bombarded with unworthy 
answers:) Not much chance of that anymore though, since it seems that the 
only people posting in this usenet group are already capable of worthy 
answers with the exception of me over the last couple of days, so I think 
I'll go back to my infatuation with the apple II and leave you to it..
