All depends on how the GNU/Linux distribution handles "bringing up"
the network devices.

On Debian/Ubuntu/Mint and derivatives, it should be possible to add
all the extrA IP addresses in /etc/network/interfaces

As for routing, it depends on how complicated the routing rules are,
simple ones will be created for the IP addresses in /etc/network/interfaces
as necessary, otherwise you need to look at iproute

RedHat/Fedora and openSUSE have similar arrangements but the
configuration file naming and syntax is different.
