Thanks a lot to both of you. It appears to be a bug in Visual C++ 2010 
(*) then.

This impression is confirmed when trying:
	static double zero = 0.0;
..
	zero ? 0 : 1
which returns the correct value (0).

(*) tested version: cl.exe 16.00.30319.01 for x64 (same issue using the 
x86 release)
