The idea seems to be that gmail doesn't consider access just knowing the email address and its pw to be sufficient security unless the conditions of the access are similar/compatible w/ gmail's security model. Similar to the condition of a client accessing gmail's IMAP server w/ only eml + pw. ArlenH (or AndyB) has his own ideas of privacy which often clash w/ a provider's ideas of security. -- Mike Easter
