That's too vague, in that it depends upon what you mean by "reason to
rely on". If it was given a an example of code that's easier to write,
read, and understand when using one-based indexing, that's entirely
possible (though I cannot vouch for whether or not it's true), and no
one has suggested anything stronger than that in this thread. If, on the
other hand, they suggested that it COULD NOT be implemented with 0-based
indexing, that would be, as you say, "nonsense".
