Sure - it's not like TM is intentionally screwing itself up, it intends to
keep hourly/daily and then weekly rollups in perpetuity. But it's a single
location, so non-redundant, so... use two locations minimum if you want to be
able to treat it as your archive. 

I really wouldn't recommend thinking of it as a permanent archive. It's a
butt-saver, not a museum. The decisions it makes when thinning the hourly
backups down to daily and weekly are not in your control, which makes it
unsuitable as an archive.
