Of course. But it does not fix the old one -- and the use of that 
software was a key reason I would care to run Windows. Still, just 
having a more usable copy would be good.

To be fair, I *DO* have a working copy of Windows running -- on a 
machine next to my desk. At any time I want I can wake the machine (or 
turn it on if needed) and set my secondary monitor to use that input 
source... I just do it rarely because I have very little software for 
Windows and no real need to run it.
