Well, I would think seriously about it. But I have trouble
imagining it reaching iPhone levels of dominance.

The market size and the replacement time for digitial cameras is (I
think) smaller and longer (respectively) than that for phones. Also,
there are a lot of cheap cameras on the market (many of them are not
very good). Apple, if true to form, would make a high quality product
at a competitive price for that quality level. But I'm not sure how
many discriminating consumers there are in the point-and-shoot market
(certainly there are some, but judging from the success of cheap
mediocre camers, there aren't that many).

Yeah - I think this is why it will be difficult for Apple to grab much
of the market.

If you are right, this will be a fun product to see. I have my doubts
- I think it will be too expensive to sell by the gazillions.
