Fizeau's experimental results, and subsequent improvements on his work, 
present a real conundrum for those who favour an Aether hypothesis. He 
certainly wasn't trying to support Einstein, who had not even been born.

Anyone who favours the Aether over relativity has to figure out how to 
include Fizeau's results into their world view.
