She probably would have taken them back home, but is shot down and perforce the kids are involved in the Island assault. Likewise, the kids are in the airborne van leading up to the terminal giant robot fight, and there is no time to drop them off. It does appear that the parents bless the kids participation in the fight against The Underminer which closes the movie. In the second movie, the kids are kidnapped out of Frozone's supervision and kind of join the boat fight on their own by which time there is no way for the parents to get them away from it. There is a nice bit where Violet comes to realize the most important thing she can do in the boat fight is protect her baby brother: a sign of growing maturity. So, it's not 100%, but in general the parents try to keep the kids out of heroing, but the plot usually intervenes. -- ------ columbiaclosings.com What's not in Columbia anymore..
