Remember how when you first saw Pages doing some rather mundane things, 
but doing them well, you were so impressed you talked of buying a Mac. I 
am not saying you should, not putting you down for changing your mind (I 
even showed you how much the same could be accomplished on Windows), but 
that ease of use and the like makes for a very nice experience. It also 
comes with a price -- in dollars to buy the machine and in a lack of 
hardware upgradability, etc.

Working with the modern monitors they have next to old ones highlights 
how much work Apple has put into this. Their screens and what they do 
with them are quite impressive.

It is sorta like going from VCR to DVD... the VCR was fine when you used 
it, but when you get used to DVD, or better, and then you go back to VCR 
you wonder how you put up with it at the time.

You can adjust this and make things smaller if you like. You cannot make 
the screen bigger. :)

The current CEO cares a LOT more about such things than did Jobs and 
works to minimize them, but they are in a capitalist system which is all 
about selling human rights and the environment to the lowest bidder. To 
compete in such a system they cannot really do much more.
