I do not believe any asked anyone about people in or out of their own 
religion. Here is one of the studies... I am pretty sure there is at 
least one other but could not find it with a quick search. To be fair, 
though, I was wrong to say more Muslims back this right than do 
Christians: they do not give a summary of all Christians:

Most religious groups in the U.S. now support same-sex marriage, 
including overwhelming majorities of Unitarians (97%), Buddhists (80%), 
the religiously unaffiliated (80%), Jewish Americans (77%), and Hindus 
(75%). Roughly two-thirds of white mainline Protestants (67%), white 
Catholics (66%), Orthodox Christians (66%), and Hispanic Catholics (65%) 
also favor same-sex marriage. A slim majority of Muslims (51%) favor 
same-sex marriage, but only 34% are opposed; 15% offer no opinion on 
this issue.

Opposition to same-sex marriage is now confined to a few of the most 
conservative Christian religious traditions. Only about one-third (34%) 
of white evangelical Protestants support same-sex marriage today, while 
nearly six in ten (58%) are opposed, including 30% who are strongly 
opposed. And just 40% of Mormons support same-sex marriage, compared to 
53% who are opposed. Jehovah’s Witnesses, a racially mixed religious 
group, are the exception. Just 13% support the policy, compared to 63% 
who oppose it. However, nearly one-quarter (24%) of Jehovah’s Witnesses 
express no opinion on this issue.

As the comments on the research note, though, the issue is more tied to 
being conservative. The issue is not religion per se, but the 
conservative mindset (and even then not all conservatives). Islam does 
often promote conservative and attract conservatives, and as such it is 
tied to work against equal rights, much as conservative Christian groups 
are.

So this is backing what I am noting: it is more about being Conservative 
than any given religion, though of course some religions are tied to the 
Conservative special-entitlement / denial of equal rights mindset.

I have no issue with someone being a Christian or a Muslim... I *do* 
have an issue with someone working to deny people equal rights. Where 
those overlap and where those religions promote such denials of equal 
rights I do have an issue with that.

I have no study but I would suspect that at least for that person he is 
being honest in his view and I doubt it is an uncommon view among 
"non-binary" Muslims. Same with "non-binary" members of many Christian 
groups.

I do not see any reason to think it is higher than with other groups. To 
the extent that it happens with any group I would expect the lies to be 
in the direction their religion pushes. So it is likely more members of 
conservative Muslim groups (and conservative Christian groups) accept 
equal rights but are afraid to say it, even on a poll. But this is just 
a guess.

What do you think is bigoted about your questions? I think they were 
reasonable ones... you sound like you have a very guilty conscience. 
And, given your recent comments, and some older ones, you have it with 
very good reason.
