Looking at the platforms supported by zlib or sqlite:

https://www.sqlite.org/mostdeployed.html

should give some idea of the range of machines C is still being used on.
Sure 36- and 28-bit machines, and other exotics, are a thing of the
past, but the processer in a Fitbit device the size of one of my finger
bones isn't anything like as standard as Raspberry Pi. (I don't know if
that Fitbit is using zlib or sqlite, but I know they are programming
them with C.)

I don't know, but I expect that the firmware in things like size-of-a-
fingernail microSD cards are also written in C.
