You call dlsym() by passing it a handle to the library, obtained with
dlopen(). Here you want to do a reverse look-up: a library calling
dlopen() on its invoking program. And the first problem is obtaining the
name of that program.

I'm assuming ordinary executables can export their globals in a way that
can be picked up by another program using dlopen/dlsym.

But my tests trying that under Windows, using the equivalent
LoadLibrary/GetProcAddress, didn't seem to work.

dlsym(someHandle,"someSymbol") will return NULL if the symbol

I'm not familiar with dladdr.

Shouldn't it be a routine inside TestCoalesce.so opening the program
that's using TestCoalesce.so?
