I'm thinking of moving over to Thunderbird myself. I'm a long time slrn
user but still really a noob because I never dug into the configuration
options really all that much.

Slrn used to be great for speed and ultimate champ for configuration
options. Along with either leafnode or even slrnpull it was and in some
ways still is a very powerful combination.

These days while the latter is true, the former is not. At least not on
my 2 Linux systems. Thunderbird retrieves faster, posts faster and
doesn't suffer from the very sligh lag that slrn seems to.
For me, I think it's time to move on. At least for as long as usenet is
around which may not be all that long.

One thing about Thunderbird is that I have not been able to figure out
how to change the fonts to make them larger. The options seem to have no
effect under LinuMint and even the add on extension "Font Changer" which
works under Windows version of Thunderbird doesn't even show up under
the Linux version although it installs.
Thunderbird configuration options are a mess as well. They are scattered
all over the place.
I'll figure it out.

Any other suggestions for a full featured Linux GUI based usenet news
program under Linux? I don't like pan at all.
