Physics isn't wrong 
any more than Newton was wrong 
or Einstein were wrong:  neither 
were wrong.  (Quantum mechanics 
is never wrong, and we know what 
that means:  nature is what it is, 
and mistaken models don't impugn 
their otherwise correct subject matter 
for their defect.)  

As scientists for the common good 
the point is to discover new physics, 
and: provide the necessary apologetics 
that explain not _that_ physics was 
wrong, but _why_ it was wrong, or what 
re-interpretation provides further more 
compelling truth for the matter, to 
convince other scientists what is 
right, not what is wrong.

So, any new physics has to work with 
all of Newton (as classical motion) and 
pretty much all of Einstein (relativity) 
and pretty much all of Fermi/Dirac (the 
quantum), and pretty much all of the 70's, 
and most of the 80's, then that "dark 
matter" and "Higgs" are useless, except 
for the historical and conceptual development 
of the physics.

So, the conceptual development of the 
physics that you address sees that there 
is a body of knowledge that is physics, and 
new results that fairly (via our scientific 
method) invalidate old theories are progress, 
and, conscientious physicists will examine, 
inspect, and embrace these, with of course 
the conscientious scientist's skepticism 
(and lack thereof).
