Linux as an OS is fine, but help is poor compared to the help you can find and get for Windows & OSX. And many of the apps available are just slimmed down versions of more powerful applications that are not available on Linux for various reasons. The prime reason most of the professional applications aren't on Linux is that the Linux community is pretty harsh on anyone wanting to make money off of applications. And of course the 'roll your own' nature of Linux doesn't help. -- Elfin
