But, to make it even worse, it is said that politicians spend one third of their waking hours raising funds for the next election. So even if one had a good politician, much of his time is wasted. This is not an argument for public funding, just one more ingredient in the mix of problems. The Brexit thing seems to me to be pretty much the same as where one has a troublesome car, and decides to buy a different used car. -- USA
