I know nothing about automotive mechanics and care even less. A rubber timing belt will wear out. A chain will last much longer. I'm not sure what the downside is for a chain. But it's not that much money to replace the belt. The mechanic who did the belt on my 80 Colt wrote on the inside of the hood "timing belt replaced 172000 Km" with a marker cuz he said nobody ever remembers if the belt's been done. -- We are geeks. Resistance is voltage over current.
