When I cannot get a connection from my mobile (with a prepaid connection from a reasonably major supplier but not the biggest and most established) in the bush here, I can often get a connection from my iPad, which is connected by the biggest and most established Australian supplier (Telstra) with towers all over the show. Plus often it is much cheaper to use the VOIP on the iPad. I use a free softphone from Zoiper, It is not great software for iPad, but it works well enough. Anyone use better? -- dorayme
