Why not? If I adjust the higher clock to run slower than normal by that factor, then the clocks will stay synchronised. You indicated earlier that you were prepared to adjust clocks to keep them synchronised. Are you going back on that? > Either You want clocks to run Your guru's way - or You > don't want them. If You want both, You're inconsistent. A clock consists of some mechanism to measure time, and some mechanism to transmit knowledge of the measurement to interested parties. A typical examine would be a balance wheel to measure time, and a set of gears to transfer the result to hands on a dial. We can make adjustments to such a clock by changing the gear ratio, but the balance wheel continues to measure time just as it always did. Yes, I know that in practice such a clock is too inaccurate to use used in a GPS, but the principle is the same. Sylvia
