But its far from clear that a less than immaculate credit
history has much relevance to most of those you list.

And you can certainly make a case that a less than immaculate
credit history does say something very useful about how the
individual operates and that that is relevant when employing
people to do a reliable job where reliability is important for
that job.

It's a surprisingly complicated question.
