The reason I asked what country you were from wasn't to be intrusive; rather, I was wondering if English was the primary language in your home country. Several languages other than English use the letters "foto" in their respective words for the English word "photo". So it would make sense for someone who learned English as a secondary language to make the mistake of spelling it that way in English as well.
