AFAIK, this is the first time you mentioned saving to *Safari's* bookmarks list. That may have been a feature in the past, but I'm pretty sure all bookmarks are now stored in the map application itself. The equivalent to your desktop in iOS is the springboard. I'm not sure whether there's a way to save a map app bookmark there. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. I often ignore posts from Google.
