Hi:
Norman: I tried the cancel bubble, etc with no effect
To All:
I've tried so many things now, that I'm totally frustrasted and
discouraged. My final change/test is below. Note the alert() message in the
onclick event.
Result: with the alert() placed in the onclick event, IE8 works perfectly.
When it is removed, it takes *two* clicks to enter the onclick event handler
for all options greater than the first option. For the *first* option, if
you click it first, it reacts correctly !
(and of course, Chrome works perfectly in all cases.)
I'm going to leave this alone for awhile and go to a monastery and try to
get rid of my new found hate for JS/ES :((
Thank you all for trying to help me.
-Mel
