It's been vandalized way too many times, idiots seeing a timeline at google and realizing they can deface a historic thread. So they post, and each one doing it acts like they are the first ones to think of it. It happened the first time google created the bug that allowed replies to posts older than 30 days, and I know I complained then, and the bug was fixed. But another iteration of the "googles group" interface and the bug was back, and it's been there for a long time now. People vandalize the famous threads, and they reply to other threads when they have no reason to do so. Either start a new thread, or don't bother. They are clueless and have no idea what usenet is, so they think it's a "webforum", and thus blindly do damage to usenet. And a lot of the time, they don't quote the message they are replying to so what they are saying isn't often obvious, and they can't even reply properly, so it looks like some idiot is starting a nonsense thread like this, except they are replying to a post from 1996, when the post was topical, and he got what was probably enough replies, and useful too. Google has done damage to usenet. Michael
