I found it on some cable, I haven't tried it, but the concept is interesting. But an outdoor antenna is more than a hole for the cable. You have to mount it somewhere, maybe more holes, and get it high enough so there's no obstruction. That may mean a mast, or a tower. Once the antenna is outside, you have to worry about lightning, and add lightning protection. If the antenna is directional, but the signals in multiple places, you may need a rotator. I shifted things for other reasons this week, and discovered I could finally get FOX. That's not quite true, for the purpose of scanning for channels with signals (at least on my two DTV sets, there's no way to enter the stations by hand), I have a loop on a long piece of bamboo that I stick out the window. It gets all the channels except ABC (which is lower down and weak, most people can't receive it here either), but it's a temporary thing so I haven't got FOX regularly. But now it's coming in, I don't know if a tree was cut down or the station has changed its power or antenna. Unfortunately, with the homemade bowtie array in that position, while I get the two different PBS stations and CBS really well, it's not getting the NBC station, so I will have to fuss around every time I change channel.
