Write my own?
I'd rather first take a course of Java, then. But, then again, I may be 
too old for that.
No, I don't see that as a possibility. Neither did I want to exchange 
complete scripts. I was looking for just a little finetuning of the 
script I found.
But, and that is the good news, I've found it myself.
In the line:
<div id="iemarquee2" 
style="position:absolute;left:10px;top:10px;width:100%;z-index:100;background:white;">
I removed "background:white" and now it works the way I want it.

Looking into such a script is leerzaam indeed!
