Massive shortage of Linux workers
---------------------------------

There is a massive shortage of Linux workers now.

Linux is now the no.1 operating system in the world
powering everything from flat panels monitors (every
one of them has a Linux computer inside to control it)
to routers, TV streaming sticks, to tablets and phones
(about 87% of the entire tablet/phone market).

Linux thunder can be heard everywhere as retail
managers look up products with Linux inside and
keep buying and buying and filling their shelves
full with cheaper fully functional products that just sell and sell.

Fully fledged computers are now being made for 9 dollars
about 7 UK pounds. The days of Raspberry Pi and its goals
were just warning of what the future holds.

If you didn't pick up a Raspberry Pi, you are probably
out of date for the new world of $9 computers.

And if you can't make use of $9 Linux computers now,
then you have even less idea of what 2020 holds
for you, and whatever participation in industrial
projects holds out for you in 2020.

Schools should train more students with open source
and government should do more to insist on open source
software and data formats to actively prevent proprietry
lock up of data or software dead ends if they too want
to join the party.

The world is moving towards Linux and IoT, and its very important
to train students with Linux and IoT gadgets, and how to make them,
from scratch so that they not left out in the cold in 2020.

How many schools offer courses to build Linux from scratch
and install it an IoT device in UK?

Politicians don't know.
