Your appreciation of "science" is QUITE DIFFERENT from mine. I suspect you confuse science with the opinions of scientists. But there, too, we differ enormously. At present, we have no knowledge of the existence of alien life. I believe that the consensus among physicists who have thought about this is that the existence of alien life is not only possible, but reasonably probable (but none of us quantify that). However, speculating about what alien life forms might look like is definitely "kook". Or the stuff of movie fantasies.... Tom Roberts
